This is the UroPay API. You keep your own checkout, your own domain, your own brand — and collect UPI payments through an RBI-licensed aggregator. Two endpoints and a webhook is the whole integration.

} Three Products. One UPI Ecosystem.
UroRelay is for people who want to sell without paperwork. The UroPay API is for the ones building the product in restricted categories — you own the checkout, we hand you the infrastructure.
Your own website or app takes the payment; we handle the UPI collection and settle to your bank.
Lenient KYC than payment aggregators
Go live faster without the document pile a full aggregator onboarding demands — or skip KYC entirely and start collecting today.
Commission
3% + ₹5 with KYC
10% + ₹5 without KYC
Settlement
T+3 or T+5
Working days, straight to your bank
Integration
One REST call
Signed orders, webhooks, your own checkout
How It Works
Your server calls POST /v1/orders with the amount and your own tenantOrderRef as the idempotency key. You get back an order ID and an openUrl.
Send them to the openUrl. Checkout hands off to Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM or Amazon Pay, then returns the customer to your own return URL.
A signed webhook tells you the order is PAID; a GET on the order is the authoritative check. Net amount reaches your bank on T+3 or T+5.
Pricing
Complete KYC and you pay 3% instead of 10% and get settled two days sooner. Commission is deducted from your settlement — you never invoice it separately.
For merchants who complete KYC. Lower commission, faster money.
Go live without submitting KYC. You pay for the convenience in rate and in waiting time.
Commission is deducted from your settlement · Taxes as applicable · Refunds are handled offline by you · Chargebacks are recovered from the merchant with a penalty as per contract
Fee Calculator
Enter one transaction amount. The maths is the same on every transaction — commission plus ₹5, deducted before settlement.
Indicative only. GST on commission and the flat fee is currently 0%.
Settlement
A payment captured on Monday reaches a KYC-verified bank account on Thursday, and a non-KYC account on the following Monday. Counted in working days.
For Developers
Create an order, redirect to the returned checkout URL, then confirm the status. JSON in, JSON out, your own tenantOrderRef as the idempotency key. Nothing to install, nothing to maintain.
Integration Options
Create orders, look up status, pull paged transaction reports. Versioned endpoints, one response envelope, predictable errors.
Signed notifications on PAID, FAILED and EXPIRED. Best-effort by design, so stay idempotent on the event ID.
Signing and verification snippets for Node, Python, PHP and cURL — the whole integration is two endpoints.
Onboarding
Every UroPay API merchant goes through a full audit of the website or app that will take payments, and signs a contract with UroPay. That is what keeps the rail clean for everyone on it.
Tell us about the business, the website or app, and expected volumes.
We review the whole product — what you sell, your policies, your pages — against the prohibited list below.
Submit your documents. Skip this step and you go live on the 10% + ₹5 non-KYC rate instead.
Every merchant signs a contract with UroPay covering commission, settlement, refunds and chargeback liability.
Swap the test key for the live key and start collecting.
Exact document list is confirmed during onboarding.
Refunds are handled offline by you. UroPay does not process refunds through the system — you return the money to your customer directly and keep your own record of it.
Chargebacks are your liability. If a chargeback is raised, the merchant pays UroPay the chargeback amount plus a penalty, as set out in the merchant contract.
Prohibited Products & Services
Check this before you apply — the audit checks it too. Accepting payments for anything on this list breaches your contract and ends the account.

I have integrated UroPay into several client platforms now, and the experience has been seamless. The API is straightforward, and the webhook system makes automating order fulfillment a breeze. What sets UroPay apart is not just the zero-commission model, but the personalised support. Gaurav is always available to help troubleshoot and ensure everything runs smoothly. It is rare to find a founder so dedicated to the success of the developers using his platform.
I heard about UroPay from Reddit, and it has enabled me to earn extra income from selling online courses in my spare time. Gaurav has been very helpful and responsive to all my queries even on the Free Plan.
UroPay has been a genuinely smooth payment experience. Gaurav is responsive, professional, and actually helpful when something comes up. Honest about what the product does, easy to work with. Hard to find a payment partner like this. Recommended without hesitation.
I sell Carnatic music lessons online and was struggling with payment. Since switching to UroPay the zero-commission promise means I keep every rupee I earn, which matters a lot when margins are tight for independent tutors.
We run a subscription newsletter on personal finance for salaried professionals. Our readers pay with UPI and it just works. The best part is that the money is directly credited to our account.
I built a digital art marketplace for Indian illustrators and needed a payment layer that would not eat into the artists' earnings. UroPay was the only option that truly meant zero commission. Integration was clean and the webhook docs are accurate. My sellers have not complained about a single failed payout.
I offer chartered accountancy exam prep through a self-hosted platform. UroPay let me go live with paid courses without moving to a third-party learning management system. Students pay via UPI, I get money in my account instantly, and access is unlocked automatically through the API. Exactly what a solo educator needs.
My fitness coaching business moved entirely online after 2020. I was paying a sizeable cut to every platform I tried. UroPay changed that completely. I now sell monthly workout plans and diet guides and keep everything. The payment page looks professional, clients trust it, and Gaurav actually replies on WhatsApp when I need help.
We publish regional language e-books for students preparing for state board exams. Our buyers are cost-sensitive and many do not have credit cards. UroPay's UPI-first approach converted buyers who would have dropped off elsewhere. Revenue in the first month after switching was noticeably higher as there is no commission like other payment gateways.
I teach Kathak online and wanted to sell recorded workshop bundles without relying on YouTube memberships. UroPay gave me a proper payment flow that I could embed directly on my website. The whole setup was done in an afternoon. Students appreciate how quick and familiar UPI feels, and I appreciate not paying commission on every sale.
My team builds custom WordPress plugins and we added UroPay as a payment option for one of our clients selling premium templates. The documentation was clear, the sandbox environment worked exactly like production, and the go-live was without incident. Our client was happy, which means we were happy. Will use again on future projects.
I created a job board focused on tier-2 and tier-3 city hiring. Employers pay a small listing fee and UroPay handles all of it without complaint. It is quietly reliable infrastructure, which is exactly what you want from a payment provider.
I sell astrology readings and birth chart reports online. My audience is largely from small towns and prefers UPI over cards. UroPay's payment buttons are really easy to add to my website. Clients book sessions and pay in under a minute. Will recommend UroPay to all.
We offer online mock tests for government exam aspirants. Volume is high and margins are thin, so every percentage point of commission matters. UroPay's zero-commission model let us price our tests more competitively while still being sustainable.
My startup sells legal document templates for small businesses - NDAs, service agreements, freelance contracts. Our buyers are price-sensitive and every rupee of overhead shows. UroPay was the obvious choice. The API is stable, support is real, and not once has a transaction sat in a pending state without resolution. Solid foundation to build on.
I teach spoken English online to first-generation learners from rural areas. Most students pay in instalments of a few hundred rupees. UroPay handles small-value UPI transactions without any minimum threshold headaches, and the money reaches me instantly. It has genuinely helped me scale to more students.

A UPI payment gateway API is the server-to-server interface that lets your own software ask for a payment and find out what happened to it. Instead of sending a customer to somebody else's hosted page, your website or app creates an order, receives a UPI collect request or intent link in return, and then listens for a notification telling it the money arrived. Everything the customer sees stays yours.
Payment risk is priced, not guessed. A merchant whose identity, business and bank account have been verified is far less likely to disappear after a dispute, so the commission drops from 10% to 3% and the settlement hold shortens from five working days to three. Non-KYC exists because plenty of small sellers need to start collecting before they have their paperwork in order — the API is identical, so completing KYC later is a pricing change rather than a migration.
T is the working day a payment is captured. T+3 means the net amount — your gross collection less the commission and the ₹5 flat fee — is credited to your settlement bank account three working days later. Weekends and bank holidays are not counted, so a Thursday capture on the T+3 cycle settles the following Tuesday. Plan your cash flow on working days, not calendar days.
In India, collecting money on behalf of merchants is a licensed activity. UroPay is not a Payment Aggregator and does not hold that licence; the UroPay API gives you the facility to accept payments on your website or app, and the aggregation itself is performed by an RBI-licensed Payment Aggregator. That is also why the audit, the contract and the prohibited-category list are not optional — they are the licence-holder's requirements, passed through to you.

FAQ
The UroPay API lets you accept UPI payments directly on your own website or app instead of sending customers to a hosted UroPay payment button or link. You keep control of the checkout, order state and customer experience.
If you are KYC compliant, the commission is 3% + ₹5 per transaction and settlement is T+3 working days. Without KYC, the commission is 10% + ₹5 per transaction and settlement is T+5 working days. There is no setup fee.
The merchant. Commission and the ₹5 flat fee are deducted from your settlement — you receive the net amount in your bank account and never invoice the fee separately to your customer.
5 working days. A full audit of the website or app that will take payments is required, and every merchant signs a contract with UroPay before live keys are issued.
Refunds are handled entirely offline by you. UroPay does not process refunds through the system — you return the money to your customer yourself and keep your own record. Build your refund policy around that before you go live.
Chargebacks are the merchant's liability. If one is raised, you pay UroPay the chargeback amount plus a penalty, on the terms set out in your merchant contract.
Yes. The API is identical on both tiers, so completing KYC later is a pricing and settlement change rather than a re-integration. Your rate moves from 10% + ₹5 to 3% + ₹5 and your cycle from T+5 to T+3.
No. UroPay does not provide Payment Aggregator services. The UroPay API provides the facility to accept payments on your website or app; the aggregator services behind it are provided by an RBI-licensed Payment Aggregator.
Any of them. Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay and other UPI apps all work with the intent and QR that UroPay API returns — there is nothing extra to integrate per app.
There is a published prohibited-category list covering 44 categories — alcohol, tobacco, gambling, weapons, counterfeit goods, chit funds and more. The audit checks your product against it, and accepting payments for a prohibited category breaches your contract.
Payment links and buttons are hosted by UroPay, cost zero commission and need no code. The UroPay API is one you integrate — it costs commission, and in exchange your own product owns the checkout, the order IDs and the payment logic.
Yes. You get two key pairs — one TEST, one PRODUCTION — and the key you sign a request with decides the environment. TEST orders are fully isolated, so you can build and verify webhook handling before any live money moves. PRODUCTION access opens once your account clears review.
