UroPay for WooCommerce adds the UroPay API as a payment method on your store. Customers pay with UPI, cards, netbanking or wallets on the UroPay hosted checkout page. Orders are marked paid only after UroPay confirms the payment.

How It Works

For Your Customer

  1. Selects UroPay at WooCommerce checkout
  2. Places the order - redirected to the UroPay hosted checkout page
  3. Pays with UPI, card, netbanking or wallet
  4. Returns to your store - order is confirmed

Behind the Scenes

  1. Plugin creates a signed UroPay order for the order amount
  2. Customer is sent to the hosted checkout URL returned by UroPay
  3. UroPay sends a signed webhook to your store when the status changes
  4. Plugin verifies the signature and fetches the final status from UroPay
  5. WooCommerce order is marked paid only after UroPay confirms the payment

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.6 or higher
  • WooCommerce 9.0 or higher
  • PHP 7.4 or higher
  • Store currency set to INR
  • Store served over HTTPS
  • A UroPay API account with API keys from the UroPay dashboard

Installation

Upload via WordPress Admin

  1. Download the plugin zip file
  2. Go to WordPress Admin → Plugins → Add New
  3. Click Upload Plugin and select the downloaded zip file
  4. Click Install Now
  5. Click Activate Plugin

After activation, the plugin updates itself. Each update is signed by UroPay and verified before it is installed.

Configuration

Step 1 - Get Your API Keys

  1. Log in at dashboard.uropay.me
  2. Copy your Test API key and secret - the key starts with test_
  3. Copy your Production API key and secret - the key starts with live_

Step 2 - Set Up Test Mode

Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments and click Manage on UroPay, then:

  1. Tick Enable UroPay
  2. Set Environment to Test - no real money
  3. Enter the Test API key and Test API secret
  4. Click Test connection
  5. Save and place a test order

Step 3 - Go Live

  1. Enter the Production API key and Production API secret
  2. Click Test connection under Production environment
  3. Set Environment to Production - real payments
  4. Save changes

Production cannot be saved without a valid key pair. A key from the wrong environment is rejected. Orders already started keep the environment they were created in.

Optional Settings

  • Title - payment method label shown at checkout
  • Description - shown below the payment method at checkout
  • Debug log - logs API calls; view at WooCommerce → Status → Logs, source "uropay". Secrets and customer data are never logged.
  • Define AUTH_KEY and AUTH_SALT in wp-config.php - UroPay uses them to encrypt your API secrets

Good to Know

  • No webhook setup - the plugin sends its webhook URL with every order
  • Hidden at checkout if the store currency is not INR, the store is not on HTTPS, or the API key is missing
  • Refunds are not issued from WooCommerce - contact UroPay to refund a payment
  • In Test mode, a notice at checkout tells customers no real money is collected
