How It Works

For Your Customer

  1. Selects UPI Payment at WooCommerce checkout
  2. Places the order - redirected to the payment page
  3. Scans the QR code with any UPI app (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, etc.)
  4. Completes payment in their UPI app
  5. Enters the 12-digit UPI Reference Number from their app
  6. Order is confirmed automatically

Behind the Scenes

  1. Plugin calls UroPay API to generate a QR code for the order amount
  2. QR code and reference form are shown to the customer
  3. Customer submits their UPI reference number
  4. UroPay companion Android app detects the UPI credit SMS
  5. Webhook fires to your store with payment confirmation
  6. WooCommerce order status updates to Processing automatically

Requirements

  • WordPress 5.0 or higher
  • WooCommerce 4.0 or higher
  • PHP 7.2 or higher
  • An active UroPay account with API credentials
  • UroPay companion Android app (optional - enables SMS-based automatic order confirmation)

Installation

Upload via WordPress Admin

  1. Download the plugin zip file
  2. Go to WordPress Admin → Plugins → Add New
  3. Click Upload Plugin and select the downloaded zip file
  4. Click Install Now
  5. Click Activate Plugin

Configuration

Step 1 - Get Your Credentials

  1. Sign up or log in at app.uropay.me
  2. Go to your dashboard and copy your API Key and API Secret
  3. Note your UPI VPA (e.g., yourname@bank)

Step 2 - Plugin Settings

Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments, click Manage on UroPay UPI Payment, then fill in:

  • API Key - from your UroPay dashboard
  • API Secret - from your UroPay dashboard
  • VPA (UPI ID) - e.g., yourname@icici
  • VPA Name - name shown to customers
  • Mode - Test or Production

Step 3 - Configure Webhook

  1. In the plugin settings, copy the Webhook URL shown at the bottom:
    https://yoursite.com/wc-api/uropay/
  2. Log in to your UroPay dashboard
  3. Add the webhook URL in your dashboard settings
  4. Ensure the UroPay companion Android app is running on your phone

Optional Settings

  • Title - payment method label shown at checkout (default: "UPI Payment")
  • Description - shown below the payment method at checkout
  • Transaction Note - note displayed in the customer's UPI app during payment
  • Debug Log - enable to log API requests; view at WooCommerce → Status → Logs → uropay
